Rehabilitation Of Sena Railway Line – Hydrological And Hydraulic Study

Image
The association of companies PB and GIBB ordered to Consultc the hydrological and hydraulic study of hydraulic passages on the railway line from Mutarara (Mozambique) to Limbe in Malawi, maintaining or not existing ones and proposing new ones if necessary.

The line has not worked since the 1990s, due to war but also floods, and the two countries intend to rehabilitate it. The line is about 200 km and more than 500 works of art.

The study involved several components. First was made the identification and location of the most important hydraulic passages. Due to lack of data records it was necessary to use empirical formulas for the calculation of project rain.
