Air Quality Monitoring to Assess the Effectiveness of Polymer Sprinkling in Coal Transport WagonsER SPRINKLING IN COAL TRANSPORT WAGONS

Image
The Nacala Corridor Project corresponds to the railway corridor connecting Moatize, to the coastal district of Nacala-a-Velha, passing through Malawi.

The railway line extends for 912 km. This project aims to transport coal produced in the Industrial Complex from Moatize to Nacala, for later export through the Nacala-à-Velha Port Terminal.

  •  The aim of this study was to verify the effectiveness of the polymer applied to coal in the loading process of railway wagons.
  • To verify the efficacy of the polymer applied, it was proposed to quantify the emissions of particulate matter at various points along the railway line, for a period of 6 months.
