Environmental Monitoring Of Maritime Coal Transhipment Project And Pier 8 At Beira Port

Vale Moçambique is a mining company which holds a mining concession in Tete Province, the Industrial Complex of Moatize. The project includes the operation of a coal open-pit mine and the processing infrastructure, with capacity to produce up to 18 million tons per year (Mt / a) of coal.

Consultec was appointed to conduct several environmental monitoring programs, as part of the implementation of the Environmental Management Plan of Beira Port Coal Terminal and Marine Transhipment.

The monitoring programs were draft according to EMP approved by MITADER and include:

  • Air Quality Monitoring in Beira Port Coal Terminal
  • Monitoring Industrial and Domestic Effluents in Beira Port Coal Terminal
  • Water Quality Monitoring in the Transhipment Area
  • Aquatic Ecology Monitoring in the Transhipment Area
