Offshore 3D Seismic Survey Project in Block A6-G Angoche

The project is currently undergoing an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), with the corresponding Environmental Impact Study and Environmental Management Plan (EIS+EMP) being submitted for Public Consultation in accordance with the applicable environmental legislation in Mozambique.

The Offshore 3D Seismic Survey Project is proposed by CNOOC Moçambique Área A6-G, Sociedade Unipessoal, Lda., under the 6th Licensing Round for Hydrocarbon Exploration and Production in Mozambique. The project involves conducting a broadband three-dimensional (3D) seismic survey over an area of approximately 5,500.98 km² within the A6-G Licence Area, in an offshore marine environment. The study area is located off the south-eastern coast of Mozambique, encompassing marine areas within the provinces of Nampula and Zambézia. The purpose of the survey is to acquire geophysical information on the characteristics of the marine subsurface, which may support the assessment of hydrocarbon potential and decision-making regarding potential future exploration activities, should these be proposed and approved by the competent authorities.
