Supervision of The Rehabilitation of The Protection Dams of Xai-xai City

Downstream the confluence between the Limpopo River and the Elephants River, a dyke system was erected that passes through the city of Chókwè and the city of Xai-xai, with the purpose of protecting these cities and the irrigation schemes of the Limpopo River in Chókwè and Xai-Xai. As a consequence of the floods that occurred in January 2013, the Chókwè and Xai-xai dykes were damaged, affecting not only the cities but the respective irrigation schemes, the hydro-mechanical facilities of Macarretane Dam and the downstream stilling basin, the approach works of a bridge over the Limpopo.

The works were divided in several contracts and this contract envisaged only the repair of Xai-xai dyke.
